February 6, 2017 – Chicago, Illinois — Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI), the largest independent provider of maintenance programs to the business aviation industry, and Constant Aviation, a full-service maintenance, repair, and overhaul business with a nationwide network, have teamed up to offer aircraft owners and operators a new upgrade program. The collaboration will help JSSI clients meet the compliance deadline for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and Future Air Navigation System (FANS)-1/A avionics upgrades.

The special upgrade program is now available to JSSI Airframe Program clients that need to meet the FAA’s January 1, 2020, deadline for equipping aircraft with ADS-B avionics. JSSI will work closely with clients and Constant Aviation to schedule the appropriate ADS-B and FANS-1/A upgrades and, in an effort to maximize efficiency, will also schedule any upcoming maintenance inspections that may be due at the time. Once equipped, ADS-B technology provides pilots with real-time precision, shared situational awareness and many other advanced applications.

Donald Ridge, Manager, Program Development for JSSI, commented, “We are always looking for ways to further assist our clients and lower their maintenance costs. By working with the highly skilled technical team at Constant Aviation, we can secure a convenient slot for this required upgrade, at a preferred rate, well before the deadline. It also means we can offer our clients relief from this out-of-pocket expense by rolling it into their existing airframe hourly maintenance program.”

“We are excited to be working with JSSI to help their clients plan for this mandate that many aircraft owners and operators have not yet prepared for. Constant has reserved a dedicated line specifically for JSSI clients looking to complete this upgrade,” said Jay Rizzo, Vice President Sales and Business Development at Constant Aviation. “Our technicians have the skill set required to upgrade a wide range of turbine aircraft and ensure full compliance. Constant has developed ADS-B solutions for over 45 aircraft make and models. We can also schedule any additional maintenance that may be needed at the same time to minimize downtime and reduce overall costs. With only 35 months remaining to complete this mandatory upgrade, the stats show that equals 167 aircraft being upgraded per month in order to meet the 2020 deadline.”
