• “WYVERN Certified MRO” Becomes a New Industry Benchmark for Aviation Safety

    • CLEVELAND, June 14, 2022 – Constant Aviation, today announced that it is the first MRO to be fully certified by WYVERN Ltd., a recognized leader in aviation safety risk management and training. The “WYVERN Certified MRO” designation now becomes the new standard for safety in aviation maintenance and repair, on a par with designations such as the WYVERN Wingman certification for aircraft operators.

    Similar to the Wingman certification audits, the Wyvern Certified MRO designation requires the completion of a three-day onsite evaluation that focuses on safety management system effectiveness, organizational structure, training programs, standard operating procedures, aircraft maintenance, occupational health and safety and security. The review emphasizes human and organizational factors and includes a safety culture assessment.

    The WYVERN Certified MRO designation follows several other recognitions of Constant Aviation’s safety accomplishments:

  • WYVERN previously certified Constant Aviation as the first independent MRO to receive a Safety Management System (SMS) Level 4 certification, its highest SMS honor, recognized by regulators and international organizations around the world.
  • The Federal Aviation Administration recently recognized Constant Aviation as having a single, corporatewide SMS, making it only the second MRO so designated. Achieving FAA-Accepted Corporate SMS status means that Constant operates under a single safety system companywide, which generally reduces safety risk and ranks it as a leader in business aviation maintenance safety.
  • The FAA previously accepted Constant Aviation’s functional SMS as being in “Active Conformance” with the FAA’s Part 5 Voluntary SMS Program, making it only the fourth MRO out of the more than 4,500 maintenance organizations nationally to achieve that designation.
