CLEVELAND, OHIO — September 5, 2017 – Constant Aviation, a full-service MRO with a nationwide network, today announced the successful delivery of its second Challenger 300 Mid Life 7500-cycle inspection. Darren Fronk, Director of Maintenance Operations (CLE) at Constant Aviation commented, “To have inspections of this magnitude report squawk free test flights with no discrepancies, speaks to the sheer quality of our work and the level of detail exercised by our team at Constant Aviation.”

The Mid Life or 7500-cycle inspection is the largest inspection done on the Challenger 300 airframe, and requires a lengthy multi-step dismantling process. In all, the inspection targeted a 90-day downtime, and took an estimated 10,000+ man hours to execute. A multitude of components, including the horizontal stabilizer, engines, flight controls, interior, landing gear, and all avionics equipment, were removed in order to gain access to specific areas of the aircraft. The 300 and its components then underwent a thorough NDT inspection conducted by Constant Aviation’s on staff NDT professionals. The 7500-cycle inspection requires a considerable amount of investment in NDT testing standards, Ground Service Equipment (GSE) tooling, and training of personnel to execute.

“Not only have we executed two successful deliveries on the heels of one another, we are fortunate to be working Challenger 300 inspections concurrently through the remainder of 2017. And to our knowledge, Constant Aviation is the only company in the world that has completed two Mid Life inspections to date,” said Dave Bowman, EVP of Operations at Constant Aviation. He concluded, “Our Challenger team headed by Jason Morrow and lead by Steve Beckett, did an excellent job in the execution and delivery of these two Challenger 300 Mid Life inspections, providing a seamless process not only for the customer, but our Cleveland team as well.”
